I'm pleased with this as it seems to get across the kind of atmosphere I wanted well, and doesn't feel too mawkish or cloyingly sentimental.

Good god, the majority of the stuff I've uploaded here is miserable and dramatic...

Well, luckily I'm working on some new short stories that are quite a bit sunnier. I guess it's difficult to keep a level of emotional balance in what you write when you yourself are depressed. Luckily, the depressed stretch I was in feels like it's ebbing away, after far too long and after having taken far too much from me, and from others. It feels... like a chrysalis. Like I'm emerging, or re-emerging, and everything's brighter and I can breathe again.

Hopefully this will come across in the new stuff I'm working on. Because really, what I like to write about is hope and optimism. And now, I feel, I have some.

I do, yes. Played and completed them all. I'm very much looking forward to Tales of Monkey Island, but looking forward to the HD re-make of SoMI more. Hopefully it'll be as good as it looks.

I played it and it was great! It wasn't all overhyped like I thought it would be. I thought the new gameplay was annoying at first, but it became fun when I got used to it. Plus, the story is shaping up pretty well. Monkey Island is ♥.
